Overview 

NAFEA is pleased to offer a  2025 Conference Bursary to support members in attending and contributing to the 2025 NAFEA Conference. The bursary also supports members to submit their conference presentation to NAFEA’s online journal, WIL in Practice.

The bursary is valued at $1,680, comprising: 

  • $1,000 financial support for travel and accommodation 
  • Free registration to the 2025 NAFEA Conference 

This initiative aims to encourage active participation and scholarly contribution to the field of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and provide financial support to enable participation in the 2025 NAFEA Conference and publication in WIL in Practice.

Up to 5 bursaries will be awarded to NAFEA members. 

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must: 

  1. Present at the 2025 NAFEA Conference (individual or co-presenter).
  2. Submit a conference paper to the ”WIL in Practice” online journal by 30 January 2026.
  3. Be a financial member of NAFEA or affiliated with a university that holds an institutional membership.

Application Process 

Applicants must submit the following: 

  • A completed Bursary Application Form
  • An abstract submitted via the Call for Presenters form. NOTE: this should be submitted separately and a copy provided in your application. 
  • A statement (max 300 words) outlining: 
    • The relevance of their presentation to WIL 
    • How the bursary will support their professional development 
    • Their commitment to submitting a paper to ”WIL in Practice

Selection Criteria 

Applications will be assessed based on: 

  • Relevance and quality of the proposed presentation 
  • Potential impact on the field of WIL 
  • Demonstrated need for financial support 

Conditions of the Bursary 

  • Recipients must attend and present at the 2025 NAFEA Conference in person in Geelong/Djilang (29-31 October). 
  • Recipients must submit a paper to WIL in Practice by 30 January 2026. 
  • The $1,000 travel and accommodation support will be reimbursed upon submission of receipts. 
  • Free registration will be arranged directly by NAFEA.
